Per-push and seasonal prices by driveway size, walks, salt, hourly rates and minimums, from the prices US snow removal businesses publish on their own websites.

Last checked October 19, 2026 · 117 businesses in 35 states · 342 published prices in the figures

How much should you charge to plow a driveway, per push or for the whole season? We read the price lists, sign-up pages and FAQ pages that 117 US snow removal businesses publish on their own websites and recorded every price with its source. The number in brackets is how many businesses each figure comes from.

A thinner dataset than our other reports. Few snow businesses post prices. The headline figures rest on 23 and 24 businesses, and only the Midwest and West have enough businesses for regional figures.

Price per push, by driveway size

The price for one visit to clear a driveway. Price lists only; each business counts once, at its lowest regular price for that size. "Any size" covers businesses that post one price for every driveway or don't say what size it covers.

DrivewayMedian per pushMiddle half
Small (1-car)$62.50(6)too few
Standard (2-car)$65(23)$53 to $75
Large (3-car or more)$85(9)$80 to $99
Long or ruraltoo few (4)too few
Any size, or size not stated$70(16)$50 to $90

Most of these are floors: 70% of the 23 standard-driveway prices are printed as "starting at" or as the low end of a range. Businesses that price both sizes charge a median 24% ($15) more for a large driveway than for a standard one (8 businesses).

Seasonal contracts

One price for the whole winter. Price lists only; each business counts once, at its lowest regular price.

DrivewayMedian per seasonMiddle half
Small (1-car)$799(13)$490 to $875
Standard (2-car)$837.50(24)$541 to $1,068
Large (3-car or more)$1,012.50(14)$609 to $1,371
Long or ruraltoo few (3)too few
Any size, or size not stated$720(15)$574 to $847

A season costs about 13 pushes. Dividing each business's season price by its own per-push price gives a median 13.4 pushes (8 businesses), with a middle half of 10.4 to 16.6. If your area usually needs fewer plowable storms than that, a seasonal price at this level favors you; if it needs more, it favors the customer.

At the same business, a large driveway costs a median 16% ($100) more for the season than a standard one (12 businesses). 67% of the 24 standard-driveway season prices are "starting at" figures or the low end of a range.

Hourly rates

Hourly rateMedianMiddle half

Shoveling and other hand labor, per worker$77.50(10)$56 to $105

Of the 10 plow-truck rates, 6 are for commercial lots; the rest are call-in rates for homes.

Minimums and snow triggers

Few publish a minimum. Only 7 of 85 businesses (8%) state a job minimum. The median minimum is $75 (7 businesses), from $50 to $175.

About half state a trigger. 42 of 85 businesses (49%) say how much snow starts service. The median trigger is 2 inches, and 27 of the 42 use exactly 2 inches. Deeper storms cost extra at some businesses: the first step above the base depth adds a median 24% (8 businesses).

How to use these numbers

  1. Start near $65 a push for a standard driveway. Half of businesses charge $53 to $75 (23 businesses). Below $53 puts you in the cheapest quarter.
  2. Set your seasonal price at about 13 pushes, then compare that with the number of plowable storms your area usually gets.
  3. Charge more for big driveways. A driveway three cars wide or larger costs a median 24% more per push at the same business (8 businesses).
  4. Say what your price covers. State your trigger depth, and price walks and salt as add-ons: walks add a median $25 per push (11 businesses) and salting $25 per visit (11).

How the data was collected

Every figure comes from a business's own website, sign-up page or FAQ, never from lead-generation "average cost" estimates or cost-guide articles. Each business counts once per figure, at its lowest regular price; a median is shown only where at least 5 businesses contribute, and a middle half only where at least 8 do. Promotions, commercial lot prices and pages showing the 2024-25 season or older are left out. Few pages name a season: only 14 of 85 businesses (16%) label their prices for 2026-27. These are asking prices, not what customers paid. Pages were checked October 19, 2026. Researched with AI tools and published by a human owner. Market reference points, not pricing advice.
