What we publish
Going Rate Reports publishes price research for small service businesses: auto detailing, pressure washing, gutter cleaning and Christmas light installation. Each report is built from the prices businesses publish on their own websites and booking pages, so owners can see what the market actually advertises instead of guessing or relying on "average cost" estimates.
How the data is collected
- Own pages only. Every price comes from a page the business controls: its website, booking page or a franchise's local page. We never use lead-generation sites such as Angi, HomeAdvisor or Thumbtack.
- One value per business. For each figure, a business counts once, using its lowest published price for that service (its "starting at" price). Top-of-range figures use only businesses that print an upper price.
- Sample sizes shown. Every median shows how many businesses it comes from. We don't publish a median from fewer than 5 businesses.
- Exclusions. Promotions, memberships, fleet pricing and add-ons sold inside packages are left out.
- Sources kept. The full reports include a spreadsheet with the source page for every price.
- Checked. The 2026 editions were checked October 17, 2026. A sample of prices was re-checked against the source pages by a second reviewer.
Who we are
Going Rate Reports is run by Kevin Matos. The research uses AI tools, and a human owner reviews and publishes every report. Contact: kjmatos7@gmail.com.
What these numbers are not
Published prices are asking prices, not what every customer pays. Coverage leans toward businesses with websites in metro areas. Use the data as a market reference alongside your own costs; it is not pricing advice.
